More Sheila Helliwell childrens books Comming soon... Murphy Stories childrens Book 2: Gammy Gammy introduces a creature that hatches out of an egg, almost costing the child his life. Moragan the witch, comes to the rescue again. As Gammy grows, so do his magical powers, which Moragan had inadvertently given him while saving the child's life. The children find where Murphy's secret little door is hidden that gives him access to their house, unfortunately, so does Gammy. The nearest neighbours are the Newton-Smiths who live in the big manor house close by, the neighbours son is a spoilt, rude and spiteful boy who receives his come-uppance from Murphy when he sprinkles one of his magical powders over the boy's toys, which come alive and attack him. Murphy tells the children about the Dark Wizard, who is usually behind everything that goes wrong in Rakidom. In book 2 Murphy's affection for the children deepens and he no longer seeks the solitude he once did. Gammy's magical powers increase and the book ends with Murphy going to visit his Cousin, not realising the chaos he was about to leave behind.
Murphy Stories childrens Book 3:All Fools Night Murphy tells the children a long story about "All Fools Night" which is held once every hundred years, all the Leprechauns gather for a grand feast and play games. Because most of them make fools of themselves, it is called "All Fools Night." The Dark Wizard features more in book three, as does Moragan the witch. The three games Leprechauns play are explained "Flatspin" "Thornblow" and "Spikeball". The Dark Wizard has one of Murphy's arch enemies cheat at the games, which almost results in Murphy's banishment from Rakidom. Murphy and his enemy are thrown into a dungeon to await their punishment for bringing the games into disrepute. Although Moragan the witch helps Murphy yet again, the worst is yet to come. Once Murphy had left Rakidom, the Dark Wizard, whose power was slowly failing, tried to steal the book of Grazbard from the great library in the castle of Wisdomion. Grazbard was the most evil Wizard that ever lived, his book contains the ultimate knowledge of all evil. Murphy has to battle with the Dark Wizard, also rescue Moragan the witch from the Black Vortex where Moragan's evil half Sister had sent her, using what she thought was an unbreakable spell. Murphy almost loses his life helping Moragan but in the end they defeat the Dark Wizard, only temporarily though, as later books show. At the end of book three, the children ask if at the next full moon they can use Murphy's three wishes to go to Never, Never Land. Readers have to wait for book four to find out if he agrees.
